Yesterday I ran one of my favorite runs ever. It involves running up the side of a mountain, along it’s ridge and then down the other side. Maybe I exaggerate when I say mountain, since the entire run is not even 7 miles, but to call it a hill would be a mighty understatement. I dread this run that I am unable to resist, and now that it’s done I can’t wait to dread it again.
Pictures taken last fall while walking with hubs, not yesterday while running light headed with the girls.
It always gets me thinking about what kind of vistas I miss by taking the easy road…even when the easy road clearly leads to my destination.
Sometimes I think God gives us optional hills…nothing really necessary to salvation, but just an opportunity to feel a little burn as we gain empowering perspective.
This week I want to hit the hills.
Hmmm and this week I am wanting the easy way! :) Not sure why . . . maybe it is the cloudy, rainy days we are having.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your sweet comment the other day. I'm glad you are enjoying running again. I think I go through phases with running and I am coming to a phase of being tired of it. This usually happens right before a big race!
Have a great day!
